This site presents an Energy Efficiency project that began in 2013 with students of the Master in Engineering of Energy and Environment, on Faculty of Science, University of Lisbon.

At this time, it made possible the development of internships to more than a dozen students, some of whom also hold master's theses.

The project was initiated by the Engineer António Abreu and supported by the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology which provided the "Alfragide" building where we performed (to the date) the rehabilitation works.

In the group are also integrated students from other engineering programs, for example the New University of Lisbon.

The project aims to optimize the energy performance of large public buildings through the implementation of innovative and inexpensive measures as aimed at:

Increasing the energy efficiency of equipment and facilities;
  • The safety of users;
  • The significant reduction of costs associated with the management and maintenance of the building in the areas of HVAC, lighting, electricity, security and water.
  • The methods and models used had an evidence of efficacy in other buildings with the same characteristics.
